Special Projects:
- NASA/MUSPIN CUNY Network Resource and Training Project
This is one of the projects in the Minority University Information Network, a NASA-funded MUSPIN initiative, focusing on the expansion of NASA-related research and education. The CUNY/NRTS includes CUNY campuses - Medgar Evers College, City College of New York, LaGuardia Community College, Queensborough Community College and York College as well as NYC K-12 public schools and selected sites in the Northeast. Program areas include Earth Science, Space Science and Technology-related applications and research. I'm the Principal Investigator and Project Director for this program.- MECSAT
This is a high-altitude BalloonSAT student project based at Medgar Evers College. It involves launching sounding balloons to altitudes of 100,000 feet or more with payloads consisting of communications, science and imaging equipment. I'm the Director for this program and the balloon flies under my callsign: KC2NAZ-11- NYC Space Science Research Alliance
I'm working with astrophysics faculty developing a Computational Space Science course, IDL-based image-processing and data analysis workshops with applications in Earth and Space Science and working with a faculty cluster investigating hotspots generated by jets in Active Galactic Nuclei(AGN). I am a co-investigator for this project.
